A convenient formulation is developed to compute numerically the hydromagnetic waves in a stratified equatorial atmosphere and ionosphere between the ground and 500 km altitude. The incident and the reflected wave mode in this case is predominantly the compressional mode of MHD waves. The numerical results of the altitudinal distribution of the waves for various incident angles are presented; they show that the north-south component of the magnetic field on the ground is dominant over the east-west and the vertical components in the whole region.
