A new electroactive polymeric dopant, poly(styrenesulfonate-co-vinylferrocene) was firstly synthesized via free radical copolymerization of vinylferrocene and styrenesulfonate tetrabutylammonium salt. The electrochemical polymerization of pyrrole in the presence of the electroactive polymeric dopant produced a conductive composite material. The composite material showed auxiliary electrochemical activity along with that of polypyrrole. The electrochemical characterizations of the composite material including the battery experiments were also investigated.
