Optical limiting property of a novel molybdenum complex of fullerene C 7 0 , (η 2 -C 7 0 )Mo(CO) 2 (o-phen)(DBM), was studied under irradiation of 10-ns laser pulse at 532 nm. The experimental results demonstrated that the derivative performed with better optical limiting behavior than the parent C 7 0 . An explanation based on the enhanced triplet-triplet absorption dominated by the intramolecular charge transfer was given.
