This study concerns the ants dwelling in a coastal ecosystem composed of three different zones: the beach, a dune system and a salty marsh. Four ant communities are differentiated which correspond to the three zones mentioned plus a shrubby cover of Pistacia and Juniperus. The study of constancy and abundance of the ant species allows a separation of the Pistacia habitat from that of the Juniperus. These data lead us to consider the sector closest to the beach, the Juniperus habitat and, to some extent, the dunes as being forrage zones with few or no permanent species.
