The permeability of an Fe-Cu-Nb-Si-B ribbon was controlled by creep-induced anisotropy, and a toroidal core for a choke coil was developed. The loss of the core was much smaller than that of a ferrite core and agreed with the classical eddy current loss. The DC-bias field applicable to it was approximately twice as large as that for the ferrite core.
