The microwave spectrum of the 1,2,3-trifluorobenzene argon complex has been studied with a pulsed-beam Fourier-transform Fabry-Perot-cavity spectrometer (MB-FTMW). The rotational and centrifugal distortion constants of normal and 1(3)- 1 3 C-species of the complex were obtained as follows: A = 1023.9040(1) MHz, B = 831.0917(1) MHz, C = 734.9059(1) MHz, Δ J = 1.1384(9) kHz, Δ J K = 4.3828(30) kHz, Δ K = -4.9329(28) kHz, δ J = 0.0081(3) kHz, δ K = 1.3756(21) kHz for normal species and A = 1020.921(3) MHz, B = 830.223(2) MHz, C = 732.766(7) MHz for 1- 1 3 C-species. The structure of the complex determined has C s symmetry and the argon atom is located almost centrally above the benzene ring.
