Phosphate glass with the compositions of P 2 O 5 –Li 2 O–Al 2 O 3 –Sb 2 O 3 –MnO–Eu 2 O 3 –Er 2 O 3 –Yb 2 O 3 was prepared by high temperature melting method to explore highly efficient luminescence material for greenhouse. The excitation, down- and up-conversion emission spectra of the sample were studied in detail. The phosphate can emit strong red emission by converting ultraviolet, visible, and infrared photons into red photons. The glass can display strong red emission to the naked eye under the illumination of sunlight. Our glass is an efficient converter of solar spectra, which can improve the utilization of solar for the photosynthesis of the green plants.
