L’obésité est globalement associée à une plus grande prévalence des comorbidités, un moins bon contrôle glycémique, une moindre adhérence thérapeutique, une moins bonne qualité de vie.Étude rétrospective comparative étendue sur 3 ans, incluant 260 patients DT2, et comparant les facteurs de risque, et les complications dégénératives chez les diabétiques de type 2 obèses (DT2O « 91 ») et non obèses (DT2NO « 169 »).35±2,95 % Des patients étaient obèses, avec un IMC moyen de 33,57±3,62 kg/m². L’âge moyen de nos patients est de 57,93±12,18 ans chez les DT2O et de 57,70±11,83 ans chez les DT2NO. La durée d’évolution était de 10,29±8,50 ans chez les DT2O et de 8,66±8,31 ans chez les DT2NO. L’HBA1C moyen est de 10,06±2,08 % chez les DT2O contre 8,45±2,66 % chez les DT2NO. L’HTA était présente chez 70,32±4,78 % des DT2O et chez 49,11±3,84 % des DT2NO (p=0,001). On a retrouvé une dyslipidémie chez 50,54±5,24 % des DT2O et chez 38,46±3,74 % des DT2NO (p=0,06). Concernant les complications microvasculaires on a retrouvé une rétinopathie chez 30,76±4,83 % des DT2O contre 21,30±3,14 % des DT2NO (p=0,09), alors que la néphropathie a été présente chez 57,14±5,18 % des DT2O et chez 50,29±3,84 % des DT2NO (p=0,3). Les complications macrovasculaires étaient présentes chez 29,67±4,78 % des DT2O contre 17,75±2,93 % des DT2NO (p=0,025).Les résultats retrouvés dans notre série soulignent la nécessité d’améliorer la prise en charge de l’obésité dans le cadre d’une prise en charge globale du DT2.Les auteurs déclarent ne pas avoir d’intérêt direct ou indirect (financier ou en nature) avec un organisme privé, industriel ou commercial en relation avec le sujet présenté.
