Depuis 5 ans, nous développons un accompagnement éducatif global, en ambulatoire de l’adolescent obèse. Au delà du travail autour du comportement alimentaire et de l’activité physique, nous avons développé une approche du rapport au corps et aux autres à l’aide de médiations artistiques comme la danse contemporaine ou le théâtre.Ces adolescents obèses sont âgés de 13 à 18 ans. Ils bénéficient d’ateliers artistiques thématiques co-animés par un psychologue et/ou un diététicien de la structure et des artistes professionnels (chorégraphe, comédienmetteur en scène). Pendant une dizaine de séances, ils s’exposent, in vivo, dans un cadre ludique et contenant, à des situations et des émotions qu’ils évitent habituellement (prendre la parole en public, être le centre d’attention…). Ensuite, ils sont amenés à s’exprimer et échanger autour des pensées, représentations du regard de l’autre et du regard porté sur soi. Cette approche est donc comportementale et cognitive.L’évaluation comprend :•un pré/post test à l’aide de questionnaires validés (estime de soi, rapport à l’apparence, affirmation de soi, qualité de vie),•un entretien individuel de fin d’atelier (adolescent et parents)•une évaluation qualitative à long terme (2 à 4 ans).Les ateliers de médiation artistiques semblent améliorer, à la fin de la période d’accompagnement, les indicateurs retenus et notamment l’estime de soi et la qualité de vie. Interrogés sur leur vécu de la prise en charge, les participants expriment avoir plus confiance en eux grâce aux médiations. Du coté des parents, une amélioration de l’ambiance familiale est aussi rapportée. Par ailleurs, l’impact semble persister à long terme (évaluation qualitative).Les médiations artistiques, utilisées dans un cadre cognitivo-comportemental sont des outils précieux pour le travail sur l’estime et de soi et le rapport au corps.
