This paper introduces an innovative way to prepare lead zirconate titanate thick films near the morphotropic phase boundary using oil-bath based hydrothermal method with magnetic stirring. Undergoing once nucleation process and four-time crystallization process, approximately 10µm PZT thick films could be obtained. This PZT film performed good ferroelectric and dielectric property. At room temperature, the coercive field (Ec) and the remnant polarization (Pr) were 37.5kV/cm and 7μC/cm2, respectively. In the frequency range between 1kHz to 1MHz, dielectric constant decreased from 300 to 250 and the dielectric loss was below 0.1. These promising results suggest that the oil-bath based hydrothermal method is a good candidate for PZT film fabrication.
