We report on the preparation and characterization of a bilayer system on (001) SrTiO 3 substrates consisting of a YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7 (YBCO) superconducting layer grown on a conducting La 0.7 Sr 0.3 MnO 3 (LSMO) buffer layer. Films were prepared by all chemical solution deposition process using propionates precursors for LSMO and trifluoroacetates for YBCO. Highly epitaxial LSMO layers of 30nm with atomic flat surfaces have been obtained at 1000°C with magnetic and electrical properties similar to the bulk ones. The YBCO growth conditions for epitaxial layers of 300nm were optimized giving rise to high performance bilayers structures with critical current densities, J C , about 2MA/cm 2 at 77K.
