The climatic treatment simultaneously allows improvement of allergic asthma by eviction of household allergens and improvement of compliance with treatment by means of specific education. The education programme is personalized and established on arrival in the centre after an interview which allows assessment of the child's specific education needs. Security objectives common to all children and specific objectives corresponding to the child's particular needs are defined. Children are divided into small groups. Education sessions are interactive, playful and, as far as possible, will have practical implications. Sessions concerning mastery of specific techniques (spray, peak-flow) allow children to correct each other when necessary with the support of a videotape recording. Parents are regularly seen during the stay to review the state of progress and to prepare what must remain the objective of climatic treatments: return home under the best possible conditions. At the end of the stay, educators evaluate the acquisition of technical and practical knowledge by means of precise grids. This evaluation is recorded in an education file, attached to the medical file. A personalized surveillance notebook is given to the child on discharge. The content of this notebook is discussed individually with the parents and the child.
