Mean lifetimes of the lowest 6 yrast band members in 1 1 0 Cd and of 9 excited states in 1 0 9 Cd, populated via the 1 0 0 Mo( 1 3 C,3n/4n) reactions, have been measured using the Recoil Distance Doppler Shift technique (RDDS). The data have been analyzed using the Differential Decay Curve Method (DDCM). The E2 transition probabilities deduced from the data for the ground band of 1 1 0 Cd are in rather good agreement with the predictions of the U(5)-limit of the Interacting Boson Model-1 (IBM-1).
