In this present work Phosphorus-doped Triglycine sulfate (TGSP) crystals were grown by the slow evaporation method. The grown crystals were characterized by to XRD, FTIR and UV–vis analysis. The XRD analysis confirms the formation of TGSP crystals and shows monoclinic structure. The lattice parameters are found to be a=9.53Å, b=12.68Å and c=5.17Å. FTIR spectrum comfirmed the functional group presents in the TGSP crystals. The crystals exhibited 74% transparency in the entire visible region observed in UV–vis spectrum. The micro hardness values of the TGSP crystal increases with increase the load upto 100g, no cracks were observed upto this load. The Mayer index confirms the grown crystals soft. TG/DTA analysis is found an endothermic peak at 230°C.
