Model and experiment studies have shown that wetability of a porous rock can strongly affect the distribution of formation water or oil in pore system, and change the dependence of resistivity, resistivity index and saturation exponent on water saturation. Resistivity of a oil-wet rock can be much higher than that of a water-wet rock with the same water saturation and water resistivity. This is of great importance to quantitative interpretation fo electrical logging.
