Le cout energetique du hockey en salle a ete estime en enregistrant, sur un meme joueur de niveau international, la frequence cardiaque et la lactatemie capillaire digitale au cours de deux matches a 24 heures d'intervalle. Ces donnees ont ete normalisees en fonction d'une epreuve d'effort triangulaire maximale realisee 7 jours plus tard.Les resultats obtenus montrent que la frequence cardiaque durant le temps effectif de jeu depasse toujours la frequence au seuil anaerobique, avec accumulation progressive de lactates au cours de chaque match. Au debut du second match etudie (quatrieme du tournoi), la lactatemie est plus elevee qu'au premier, temoignant d'une accumulation de fatigue. En revanche, son intensite moins importante a permis un remplacement momentane du joueur. De fait, frequence cardiaque et lactatemie finales sont moins elevees.Il apparait que le hockey en salle doit etre differencie du hockey sur gazon par son cout energetique important et une sollicitation metabolique differente. Le coaching s'avere important en matiere de gestion de la recuperation. L'enchainement des competitions, sans reel repos au cours de la saison, pourrait favoriser la survenue de surentrainement.
