Photon-gated spectral hole burning in mixed meso-phenyl-tetrabenzoporphyrinato-zinc as donor in which the inhomogeneous line width of mixture reaches 370 , with aromatic cyanide as acceptor in poly (methylmethacrylate) has been performed at 4.2 K. The hole filling induced by a gating beam was studied. The absorption of the gating beam by donor molecules leads to both broad-band bleaching of the S 1 ← S 0 inhomogeneous line before hole burning and hole filling after hole burning.
