A series of copper–manganese oxides catalysts supported on zirconium modified titanium-alumina for dichloromethane (DCM) catalytic combustion were prepared by impregnation method. The combustion experiments were investigated employing a fixed bed flow reactor, and the catalysts structures and properties were characterized by means of BET, TPR, XRD and XPS technologies. The results show that CuMn/Zr–Ti–Al catalyst is very active for DCM oxidation since a total conversion was reached at 470°C without formation of other harmful organic compounds. This performance was attributed to the highly dispersed CuMnO x . Adding of Zr also improved the reducibility of active phase.
