In this report we have examined two new heat shock protein (HSP16) proteins in the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans encoded by the open reading frames F08H9.3 and F08H9.4. The F08H9.3 and F08H9.4 genes are oriented in the same direction next to each other on the chromosome, not sharing any promoter region, unlike other hsp16 genes that share common promoters in pairs.
