Welcome to the new Technologists' Section of the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology! This section has been designed to provide a forum in which to exchange information and ideas on all aspects of nuclear cardiology that affect technologists. It is our hope that many technologists will take an active role in shaping the content of this section and, by so doing, share in its success. In this section we plan to cover topics in each issue, such as gated SPECT imaging, cardiac drugs, PET imaging, correlative modalities, attenuation correction, reimbursement, strategic planning, marketing your department, and our responsibility as teachers. It is our desire that all technologists become involved in the selection and writing of the topics that will be covered. In this, our inaugural article, we will outline what we believe to be the most important responsibilities of the technologist in 1998 and provide sources of information for each responsibility.
