Two new metal–organic polymers (MOPs): [Mn 2 (Hoba) 4 4H 2 O] n (1), [Mn 2 (dpb) 2 (oba) 2 H 2 O] n (2), (H 2 oba=4,4′-oxybis(benzoic acid), dpb=1,4-bis(pyridin-3-ylmethoxy)benzene), have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 exhibits a two-dimensional (2D) wave layer structure with 4 4 6 2 topology which containing a meso-helical chain. Compound 2 features a 1D bicyclo-chain with (4 3 ) 2 (4 6 .6 5 .8 3 .10) topology built up from linear 3-connected oba 2− , 2-connected dpb and 6-connected secondary building units (SBUs) [Mn 2 (COO) 4 H 2 O]. Their structures are further characterized by elemental analysis (EA), infrared spectrum (IR), powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), and thermogravimetric analyses (TG), moreover, temperature-dependent magnetism susceptibility measurements show antiferromagnetic characters for compounds 1 and 2.
