Two new ensign wasp (Hymenoptera: Evaniidae) genera, Protoparevania Deans and Eovernevania Deans, and species, P. lourothi Deans and E. cyrtocerca Deans, are described from the Lebanese amber outcrop of Mdeirij/Hammana. These fossils represent two of the oldest (120-130Ma) known evaniids and share many of the synapomorphies that unite extant Evaniidae. Their unique morphological attributes and how they contribute to our current understanding of evolution in Evanioidea are discussed.
