The preliminary study of the cross-section of the Selle Valley at Conty has allowed a reconstruction of the river's development (morphology and sedimentation) in relation to climatic variation during the Lateglacial and the Early Holocene. This comprises: incision and passage to a transitional system during the Bolling; single meandering channel during the Aller d with organic overbank silt deposition, infilling by calcareous silts during the Younger Dryas; and, finally, a new major incision phase at the beginning of the Holocene followed by the lowering of the fluvial dynamic, and the infilling of the whole valley by peat.L'etude preliminaire du transect de la vallee de la Selle a Conty debouche sur la reconstitution de l'evolution de la morphologie et de la sedimentation fluviatile, en relation avec les variations climatiques au cours du Tardiglaciaire et du debut de l'Holocene: incision et passage a un systeme de transition au Bolling; regime de chenal unique a l'Aller d, avec depot de limons organiques dans la plaine alluviale; important colmatage de limons calcaires pendant le Dryas recent, et enfin, nouvelle phase d'incision majeure au debut de l'Holocene, suivie d'une baisse progressive de la dynamique, entrainant le colmatage de l'ensemble de la vallee par la tourbe.
