Photoluminescent CdWO 4 thin films were synthesized by pulsed laser ablation using targets of CdO/WO 3 mixed oxide. The ablation plume was controlled in the same length by three conditions with different ambient O 2 pressure and laser fluence. In addition, target-substrate distance was changed. Properties of photoluminescence, crystal structure, angular distribution of Cd/W ratio and that of W intensity in the films were studied.
