In this paper, the selectively excited EIT effect by RCP and LCP can be achieved by three dimensional (3D) nano-structures composed of the metallic nanorod and special split-ring-resonator (SRR). Numerical calculations on electric field distributions indicate that the chirality contributes to this novel effect. Moreover, it also demonstrated that constructive interference of bright–bright mode leads to a broad band transparent window in nonchiral metamaterials. These new findings could be employed to distinguish RCP and LCP light and also have potential application in optical polarization switching.
