The quantum efficiency of the spectral hole-burning was measured with the parallel and perpendicular polarization of the excitation and probe light to the oriented axis of the highly oriented J-aggregates. From the polarization dependence of the hole burning, the quantum efficiencies of the mesoscopic coherent aggregates (mesoaggregates), which are isotropically dispersed in the sample, and the macroscopic aggregates (macroaggregates), which are large enough to be aligned by centrifugal force during spin coating, were obtained to be about 10 - 4 at the longer wavelength side of theJ -band.
