Al content on the influence of glass forming ability and magnetic properties of nanocrystalline (Fe 83.3 Si 4 B 8 P 4 Cu 0.7 ) 100−x Al x (x=0∼1.25at.%) alloy was investigated in our work. Experimental results show that addition of 0.5at.% Al is effective in improving the glass forming ability of Al-free alloy and thus amorphous precursor prepared by industry-grade raw materials can be obtained. Meanwhile, the addition of Al is beneficial in decreasing coercive force and maintaining high saturation magnetization above 180emu/g, which makes Fe–Si–B–P–Cu–Al alloy a promising soft magnetic material in potential applications.
