La 1-x Sr x Fe 1-x Ti x O 3 (x=0, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 1) are synthesized by a wet chemical method. The crystal structure of the compounds belongs to orthorhombic system when x<0.5 and to cubic system when x=<0.5. Mossbauer spectra of the 57 Fe nucleus demonstrate that the iron ion in the compounds is trivalent and in high spin state and the distribution of Fe ion at the B site in the lattice of La 1-x Sr x Fe 1-x Ti x O 3 is random. The orthorhombic compound is magnetic and the cubic compound is paramagnetic. The frequency dependence of the dielectric loss of the orthorhombic compound in the region from 10kHz to 1MHz is very different from that of the cubic compound.
