Two different oxides with the same 1:1:2 cationic ratio have been obtained in the Sr-Ca-Cu-O system by applying different pressure synthesis conditions. Selected area electron diffraction (SAED) and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) show these phases formed by new different superstructures. Tentative structural models based on the two-dimensional ordering of Sr and Ca atoms are proposed.
