We have carried out measurements of magnetic susceptibility and specific heat on polycrystalline Ce1-xLaxPdAl (0⩽x⩽0.2) samples to investigate the dilution effect of magnetic properties of the geometrically frustrated Kondo system CePdAl. Above 20K, the magnetic susceptibility, normalized by the Ce concentration, is found to be almost independent of x. The substitution of magnetic Ce ions by nonmagnetic ions leads to a reduction of the Néel temperature TN which is weaker for Ce1-xLaxPdAl than for Ce1-xYxPdAl. The results are discussed within the competition of Kondo and RKKY interactions.
