A modified version of the integral Fan-Brooks model has been used to calculate the horizontal penetration of inclined thermal buoyant water jets. The classical densimetric Froude number F o is subsituted by a Froude number F a based on the thermal expansion coefficient of water. Using the above model, a new equation is derived which can predict the horizontal penetration of the thermal jet at a given Froude number F a and discharge angle.
