We demonstrated in an a-cut Nd:La0.25Gd0.75VO4 mixed crystal the passively mode locking laser of two different wavelengths in orthogonal polarization states with a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM). Due to the special anisotropic gain feature of the mixed crystal, through careful controlling on the cavity loss anisotropy, the simultaneous orthogonal polarization states laser were also achieved. In σ polarization states, the pulse width of 2.2ps was close to the shortest pulse width obtained with Nd-doped vanadate crystal to my knowledge. What's more, dual-wavelength synchronized mode locking and bound-soliton-like pulse mode locking was also experimentally observed.
