Compounds of YBa 1.95 K 0.05 Cu 3 O z , YBa 1.95 K 0.05 Cu 2.97 Zn 0.03 O y and YBa 1.95 K 0.05 Cu 2.97 Co 0.03 O x composition were prepared sintering at 950°C in oxygen atmosphere. It has been established that more non-superconductive phase is formed when replacing copper ions with cobalt or zinc ions. These ions increase the amount of amorphous phase too. The effects of Co 2+ ions is stronger than that of Zn 2+ ions. These compounds first peritectically melt, then crystallization takes place from the melt when hot pressed between 900°C and $920°C at 12 MPa pressure for 2 hours in oxygen atmosphere. The pores larger than 2.5 μm disappear when the liquid phase appears, while microporosity does not change significantly. The size of the largest crystalline particles in hot pressed samples is 5 μm, which is about the 4th can be produced by atmospheric sintering.Among physical properties current density at 77 K was influenced most disadvantageously by hot pressing.
