Texture evolution in Fe–6.5wt.% Si thin sheets produced by rolling was investigated using macro-/microtexture analysis. Cold-rolled sheet is characterized by strong γ fiber (〈111〉//ND) and widely distributed shear bands through the thickness. The beneficial η fiber (〈001〉//RD) with a peak at {210}〈001〉 dominates the primary recrystallization texture even after considerable grain growth, and consequently the magnetic property is significantly improved. The development of {210}〈001〉 texture can be attributed to the favored nucleation and grain growth under the applied processing parameters.
