The removal of Cr(VI) ions from aqueous solutions via adsorption onto black rice husk ash was studied at different conditions from kinetics point of view. The effects of certain parameters on the removal of Cr(VI) were investigated, including initial pH, contact time, adsorbent dose, initial concentration and temperature. Adsorption process was found to be highly pH dependent. The kinetic data of Cr(VI) sorption are in a good agreement with pseudo-second-order kinetic model at all studied temperatures and initial concentrations. The kinetic parameters of the adsorption process were estimated — rate constant, initial rate of adsorption and activation energy.
