The article is devoted to the identification of the morphological evolution of the surface of lightweight concrete (LWC) at early ages. In order to better understand the complex process of solidification, the measured morphologies are compared at different stages. The presented research demonstrates the capability of the portable 3D (LASER) scanning technique to determine four transitional stages during the early age morphogenesis of a LWC surface. The most significant results, in the form of 3D isometric images, areal directionally depended morphology and amplitude surface morphological parameters, are discussed. Four significant transitional phases, which take place during solidification, are elucidated.
