Observation and characterization of weathering of different buildings stones from the eastern area of the Paris Basin show the importance of sedimentary and diagenetic facies. A comparison between the harshness of environment exposure and the microfacies allows the evolution of stone decay to be classified according to different telogenetic behaviours. The durability of building stones can be related to their conditions of use, to the developed weathering or to the degradation conditioned by the microfacies of the limestone ('preferential weathering').L'observation et la caracterisation de l'alteration en oeuvre de differentes roches de l'est du Bassin de Paris font apparaitre l'importance du facies sedimento-diagenetique pour expliquer leur degradation.
