PANI/P 2 O 5 composite samples with various dopant percentages of P 2 O 5 were synthesized by chemical oxidative method at room temperature. The samples were characterized by Fourier transforms infrared (FTIR), SEM, UV–vis Spectrum, X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermal stability (TGA) and conductivity measurements. The FTIR analysis confirms the presence of P 2 O 5 in the polyaniline structure. The π–π* transitions were observed in the HCl doped with polyaniline and composites from the UV spectral studies. PANI/P 2 O 5 composites show broad amorphous peak compared than PANI. TGA results indicate that a PANI/P 2 O5 composite at room temperature is higher stable than PANI. The SEM image shows P 2 O 5 has a strong effect on PANI's morphology. The conductivity of the PANI/P 2 O 5 composites decreases with increasing content of P 2 O 5.
