The Technical Library of Richter Gedeon Co. was the first department to launch its own website on the corporate server. The number of static pages was rapidly growing and the initiative was soon followed by other organisational units that expressed their need for an own webpage. The hosting capacity of the technical library soon proved to be insufficient and it was time to move on. Despite smaller developments that have been carried out earlier, the turning point came when the company decided to introduce a new corporate information sharing technology in 2004. This was the Microsoft Sharepoint Portal Server 2003 released at that time. The article gives a brief historical overview of the web-based library and the implementation of the project, together with the advantages and disadvantages of the new system. The new and the updated services of the web-based library are presented and the article briefly touches upon the future plans
