Im Nordteil des früühmittelalterlichen Gräberfeldes in Dziekanowice, Fst. 22 befand sich ein Grab mit stark vernichteten Fragmenten eines Holzgefäßes mit Metallbeschlägen auf. Dunne, längliche Bleche mit stilisiertem geometrischen und Pflanzenornament befanden sich in der Füllung einer Doppelgrabgrube. Sie entstand infolge von Bestattung zwei Toten an derselben Stelle. Zuerst wurde in einer regulären, rechteckigen, ca. 80 cm breiten Grube ein Mann bestattet, der im Alter Maturus, um das 50. Lebensjahr gestorben ist (Grab 51/99), Dann, nach dem Ablauf einer gewissen Zeit (nach völligem Zerfall ins Skellet des Toten), wurde an fast derselben Stelle ein zweites Grab (Grab 79/99) eingegraben, in dem eine Frau im Alter Maturus I, um ca. 35-40 Lebensjahr bestattet ist. In einer rechteckigen Grabgrube, die 80x200 cm groß war und in der Ost-West-Achse gelegen war, wurde eine Frau in ausgestreckter Position, auf dem Rücken, mit dem Schädel nach Osten bestattet (Abb. 1). ln ihrer rechten Hand befand sind ein Münzenfragment - weniger als ein Viertel des Sachsenpfennigs vom Typ ETO (?) aus dem 2. Viertel des XI Jh. (Analyse von Prof. Dr. Hab. Stanislaw Suchodolski). An die Münze war ein kleines Eichenholzfragment angeklebt (Quercus sp. - Die Holzanalysen hat mgr Maria Michniewicz durchgeführt), wahrscheinlich aus einem Grabbrett, auf dem die Tote gelegt wurde. In dem westlichen Teil dieser Grabgrube und im westlichen Teil des ursprünglichen Grabs (5 1/99) befanden sich 8 Metallbeschlagfragmente. Über dem Skelett der Frau, in der Deckpartie der Grabgrube befand sich ein stark korrodiertes eisernes Messer, das ursprünglich wahrscheinlich dem Mann gehörte. Neben den Metallbeschlägen trat in der Füllung, zwischen den Markknochen des Mannes eine so genannte eiserne Punze mit angeklebten Fragmenten des stark mineralisierten Holzes auf. In der Füllung des Grabes 79/99 und zwischen den Knochen im Grab 51/99 traten Holzkohlen auf (Tabelle 1). Der Metallbeschlag bestand aus 8 kleinen Blechfragmenten (Abb. 2). Drei von ihnen, einwenig verformt, sind stark ausgedehnten Dreiecken mit ca. 8,2-8,8 cm Länge und ca. 1,2 cm Breite ähnlich. Auf jedem ist ein Ornament in Form von stilisierten Pflanzen ersichtlich. Ein Blech ist am Holzfragment befestigt (Esche — Fraxinus excelsior L. aus einem Stamm mit Jahreszuwachsstärke ca. 4 mm). Mit diesen Beschlägen kann man zwei andere Fragmente (Länge 4,5 und 3,2 cm und Breite. 1,2-1,4 cm) verbinden, deren Form und Ornament ihnen ähnlich sind (Abb. 2, D-E). Alle beschriebenen Fragmente sind aus Bronzeblech ausgeführt, das mit einem dünnen Goldüberzug bedeckt wurde (Analyse von Władysław Weker und mgr Elżbieta Pawlicka) (Tabelle 2). Die beschriebenen Bleche begleiteten drei kleinere Fragmente (Abmessungen von 2,8x2,0 bis 1,4x1,2 cm), auf den ein stilisiertes, geometrisiertes Ornament ersichtlich ist (Abb. 2, F-H). Diese drei Fragmente sind aus silbernem, auch mit einem Goldüberzug bedecktem Blech ausgeführt. Die hypothetische Form des Holzgefäßes kann dank dessen äußerer, nur in einem kleinen Fragment erhaltener Kante und dem Profil des Bodenteils widerspiegelt werden. Sie lassen anzunehmen, dass es ein runder, flacher, leicht eingebogener Teller war, dessen Boden von der Außenseite abgesetzt wurde (Abb. 3). Die Metallbeschläge befanden sich auf der inneren Tellerseite. Man kann annehmen, dass die Längsbänder symmetrisch, im Kreuzsystem, auf der Innenseite angeordnet waren. Die drei kleineren Fragmente können dagegen aus einem vernichteten „Medaillon“ (?) stammen, das auf dem Tellerboden unterbracht war (Abb. 3 i 4). Auf Grund einer stratigraphischen Analyse und Analyse des Materials (u.a. die Münze Sachsenpfennig) können wir die Bestattung des Mannes im Grab 5 1/99 mit der 2. Hälfte des 11. Jh. verbinden.
