The article focuses on the ethical aspects of the teaching profession in the context of activities related to counteracting violence at school. The problem of teacher’s reaction to the situation of peer violence among students is complex and multidimensional, due to both the complexity of the problem of peer violence and its determinants, and due to various issues and factors that simultaneously affect the teacher and lead him to make a decision in a specific situation. The conducted analyzes are aimed at bringing the teacher’s situation closer to and understanding the problem of peer violence, which can be considered in terms of ethical dilemma. Therefore, the situation of reaction to violence was treated as a kind of problematic situation related to the profession, in which one has to respond to conflicting moral obligations (duties) and make a choice. The text considers the possible “competing forces” affecting the teacher, who is obliged to take the said decision.
