The aim and the objective of this study, is to verify finite element model in the static analysis of typical road flexible pavement formulated on the basis of the elastic layered half-space being the mechanical reference model of the pavement. As the pavement load in this part of paper the horizontal (tangent) effect of interaction between a wheel of vehicle and the road surface was considered. This charge of pavement was aasumed as the static loading, uniformly distributed over the circular area of the pavement surface. The named verification was performed through comparison between the numerous data calculated using FE program ABAQUS/Standard with the results obtained.using the VEROAD program which applies analytical methods of solving the formulated problem. As the result, the conclusions concerning the optimal choice of FE model parameters were applied including such important ones as the size of the volume modeled by finite elements and the boundary conditions on its border surface. For this, some conclusions on FE model verification formulated in the first part of the study for the vertical charge of pavement was also used.
