Dokonano formalnej adaptacji równań Kane'a do opisu względem ruchomych układów odniesienia. W zakresie zastosowań praktycznych dokonano zebrania wszystkich zastosowań metodyki i wynikających z niej modeli matematycznych.
The work presents a method of modelling railway vehicle dynamics as well as numerous representations of its practical applications. Fundamental to this method are description of the vehicle vibrations as relative motion, a description of the track centre line by parametric equations, and a discrete structure of the vehicle model. The main feature of the method is the considerable number of elements of a general nature. The most important are: the discretion of vehicle motion conditions, the discretion in the use of mechanics formalisms, the generalised way of describing the imaginary forces arising from the relativity of vibrational motion, the ability to describe holonomic and nonholonomic systems, the discretion of the external forces and the methods of their description, the possibility of generating mathematical models in traditional and numerical ways, the considerable discretion in modelled objects and the considerable discretion in problems treated by this method. A review, systematisation, and development of the methods of describing relative motion in general and of railway vehicles in particular are done in this work. The algorithmic ways of relative motion description are presented, which are valid for a wide range of formalisms. The formal adaptation of Kane`s equations in the case of moving reference frames is also presented. In the realm of practical application all the methodology applications were collected as were their mathematical models. The applications were classified as those using numerical simulation directly, indirectly and not at all. The majority of the applications concern simulation. Some of the simulations as particularly important to the work, particularly original and of significant contribution to the study of railway vehicle dynamics, especially in transition and circular curves, were selected for detailed presentation. The most important are: investigations to the importance of imaginary forces in modelling railway vehicle dynamics; investigations into dynamic interactions track-vehicle and vehicle-passenger while passing from straight to circular track section in terms of transition curve formations in space; investigations into limit cycles in transition and circular curves and investigations into the influence of track irregularities in estimating vehicle properties as examples of dynamical studies of motion in curved tracks; the use of methodology in software generating equations of motion numerically; the optimisation of wheel and rail profiles.
