A limited spatial resolution of infrared cameras plays an important role when emissivity and temperature fields of a target are very diversified. Such fields occur often in electronic devices and in such cases the measured temperature may differ significantly from the average temperature being in the target area related to the pixel. The purpose of this paper is to analyse and discuss the two sources of a difference between the surface temperature measured by an infrared camera and the average temperature in the pixel area. One of the sources is probably not described anywhere.
