Tending to restriction of the exhaust gases emission is the most important trend of development of fuel engine design requires among other reduction of the fuel consumption. Quantity of the frictional resistance has a fundamental effect on this depending on design and rheological of the tribological kinematic pairs, engine operating condition and properties of oils using in engine. Nowadays the most important problem of the cognitive nature is determining relation between properties of the engine oil (especially rheological) and the coursing of the tribological processes during running engine. Initially results of the effect kinematic viscosity in test temperature on frictional resistance in piston air – compressor HS – 11 using 11 fresh commercial motor oils are presented in the paper.
