The conditions of remediation of soil polluted with n-hexadecane by using immobilized bacteria have been proposed. It was observed that the soil polluted with petrol in Yemen Hunt Oil Company refinery could be regenerated under similar conditions. Using 1H NMR spectroscopy the small amounts of alcohol were in the sample isolated from soil. This shows that the rate of biodegradation of primary products is higher than the rate of oxidation of hydrocarbons.
