Projekt zakłada zagospodarowanie wód termalnych o temperaturze około 60°C, mineralizacji rzędu 8-13 g/dm3, przy wydajności około 180-190 m3/h i wykorzystanie ciepłych wód w trzech zasadniczych kierunkach, a mianowicie: ciepłownictwo, balneoterapia i rekreacja.
The article presents an outline of the concept of use of geothermal waters carried out by the local authorities and Geotermia Poddębice Ltd. The basic information of geological and hydrogeological conditions in the area of the city Poddębice, with particular emphasis on hydrogeological characteristics of thermal waters of Lower Cretaceous aquifer are presented. Several changes of the concept of use of geothermal waters in the Poddębice region that had been made in 1999-2007 led to implementation of the geological project approved by the municipal authoritities and the company of Geotermia Poddębice Ltd. in the end of 2007. The project has gained a positive assesment of The Commision For The Hydro-geological Documentation of the Ministry of Environment in February 2008. According to the procject the development plan assumed drilling of one borehole to the depth of 2039 m, and use of geothermal waters from the Lower Cretaceous aquifer (the lower and middle Albian, Aptian and Barremian ages). The project involves use of geothermal waters of temperatures around 60 deg C, mineralization around 8-13 g/dm3, the outflow of about 180-190 m3/h and use of warm water in the wide range of applications, from recreational through balneotherapy and for heating purposes as well. After extraction of the heat, through the heat exchanger with a capacity of 5.4 MW, and cooling down to about 30-35 deg C geothermal water will be discharged into the Ner river. On writing this article "Project of geological works for recognition of main geothermal parameters in the area of the Poddębice city" is the early stages of implementation. The tender for drilling has been annouced in September 2009. The 50% of the found for drilling will come from the National Found for Environmental Protection and Water Management and the remaining 50% from Poddębice Municipal as the only owner of the Geotermia Poddębice Ltd.
