Problems concerning fatigue life prediction of structural components with account for the scatter of data are presented in the paper. Parameters, which can be considered as random variabIes in the probabilistic life prediction using three different approaches (high cyc1e fatigue, low cycle fatigue and ITacture mechanics) have been selected. Type of their distribution and magnitude of scatter have been discussed as well. The presented analysis of the influence of data scatter on the fatigue life allows one to select random variabies for probabilistic life prediction of structural components.
