W opracowaniu przedstawiono wyniki badań przebiegu procesu zużycia w warunkach tarcia techniczne suchego warstw wierzchnich po wybranych sposobach obróbki nagniataniem naporowym powierzchni zewnętrznych. Przeanalizowano przebieg i rezultaty procesu zużycia powierzchni nagniatanych naporowo tocznie kulką i krążkiem oraz powierzchni nagniatanej ślizgowo kulką. Przedstawiono opis mechanizmu zużycia i wyniki porównawcze wielkości zachodzącego zużycia badanych powierzchni.
The paper presents the results of studies on the wear process occurring under technically dry friction conditions on top layers obtained by selected methods of pressure burnishing of external surfaces. The progress and results of the process of the wear of surfaces rolling pressure burnished with a ball and with a roller, respectively, as well as of a surface sliding burnished with a ball are analysed. A description of the wear mechanism is given, and comparative results for the magnitude of the occurring wear of the surfaces examined are provided. The wear process introduces qualitative changes to all initial (engineering) properties, such as the stereometric state and the physical and physicochemical properties of top layers (with service top layers being formed). Thus, it leads to changes in the service properties of the post-operation top layer. These changes may be programmed by means of the appropriate selection of the method and parameters of surface finishing by burnishing. As the result of wear, the substitution of the technological sub-surface layer with a new layer formed during the wear process occurs. Change in the state of stresses remaining after the working and the removal of the most strain-hardened layer takes place. However, these changes, occurring as a result of wear, are largely determined by the features resulting from the surface finishing of technological top layers.
