W pracy przedstawiono metodykę oraz wyniki analizy fraktalnej mikrostruktury martenzytycznej. Zarejestrowane metodą mikroskopii sił atomowych topograficzne mapy mikrostruktury poddawano analizie numerycznej w dwóch głównych kierunkach (a1 i a2) anizotropii, określanych metodą funkcji autokorelacji powierzchniowej.
This paper presents a method and results of experimental determination of fractal dimension of martensitic microstructure. Obtained from the atomic force microscope (AFM) topographic maps of martensitic microstructure waere put to the numerical analyses in two main anisotropy directions (a1, 2), obtained by area autocorrelation methods. Values of fractals dimensions (Da1,Da2) were determined basis on analyses of structure function S(?) curve ploted in a1 and a2 directions for different scan areas. Example of structure function and spectrum of area autocorrelation function with marked anisot- ropy directions has been showed in Figure 1. Plotting S(?) functions (Fig. 2, 3) for areas with different scans size (from 1.5 to 30 ?m) and one or two-way plates orientation it was found that present- ed method of fractal description of martensitic microstructure may be used for scan areas including at least one plate of martensite. However the fractal dimension may be the parameter describing the martensite morphology.
